I sent the grammar quiz home with the students in an envelope. Please note the extra "hints" for the following sections:
F. You can choose any color you would like. Just make sure that it agrees in number and gender with the noun it's describing!
G. Using number and gender of the adjectives to help figure out which one goes with which noun!

Homework Week of October 23- October 29th
** I apologize for the lateness of this post. I hit "save" and not "publish". Please forgive.**
Day of the Dead:
As all culture needs to be thought about through a Christian perspective, I urge you to talk to your children about what we have learned about Day of the Dead. I've attached the presentation I've gone through in class for them to re-read and you to go through with them. I've also posted some other links below to aid in resources if you would like more information. Students do not need to read through this, though they are welcomed to. I did not edit this material (the links) so you might wish to read through it before letting your students. These are secular links.
While I may not be a huge Wikipedia fan (never use for looking up info you don't already know), this article does a decent explanation.

Homework and Notes October 16th-October 22nd
Exploratory Spanish:
(The only activity that is "corrected" is the last activity due to the fact that each other activity is subjective or computer activity)
Spanish One:
(Please note that some page numbers might be slightly off due to two publications of books in the same year... Please focus on the activity number OVER the page numbers. The activity numbers are unique to the section we are working.)

Week of September 25-October 1st
Homework and Notes!
A couple reminders:
- Students do not need to do every activity on a separate sheet of paper. Please encourage them to legibly conserve paper (even if it crosses "day" assignments.
- The notes are filled out online for your convenience. They are also numbered. If you are not sure if you have all the notes, please check on line. If you aren't sure you caught everything in class, or perhaps were absent, please check online. If you struggle to find notes, just email and I will most gladly just email you the attachments you need!

Homework and Notes - Week of September 18th-24th
I didn't put any points on the homework, just included the correct answers. The points were confusing to students and parents and so decided that it was best to be left out.

Homework Correction September 11-17th
Homework Correction Links!
Just a quick note about homework: Please do not feel burdened to assign points to your student's homework. The homework correction is provided sothat students have immediate feedback on material and are not practicing it incorrectly for a week. Please check through your students homework (or allow your student to do it) but I will always check the homework turned in to ensure standard grading.

Spanish 1:
Please note the following page number changes on homework:
The
vocabulary that was stated on page 45 should be page 47.
Activity 9
should be on page 36 not 34.
Activity 1 is on page 44 instead of 42.

Homework and Notes for the week of September 11-17th
Week of September 11th-17th
Biggest thing this week is that each class has a vocabulary quiz on day 3 or 4 depending on your class! This quiz will be emailed Thursday 9/12 in PDF form to the registered parents email (from GCA).
As there were some technical difficulties last week I will be posting homework corrections in Google doc form (and it will send an automatic update to parents) or you can get it in PDF form here on the blog. This will be available Thursday am 9/12.

Homework Scoring Clarification
Homework Scoring Clarification
When I send information for scoring please note that it is for aid only and not hindrance. While I think feedback is important, if you are uncomfortable assessing point values to homework, please feel free to leave that to me. What is most important is the student knows what they are doing right/wrong. I will check over point values anyway as there is bound to be some misunderstanding and I find that self correction is often times harsher than what I would assess.
If you do decide to not put point values on the homework, please still "correct" the mistakes your student might make (ie write the correct answer so they learn).
When in doubt of your student's answers do NOT score it. It is best to highlight/circle and leave this for me to do. I find this particularly important as proficiencies increase and students are able to come up with correct answers I can't/didn't' anticipate.
As always I am always looking for feedback on format. I wish this to be an understandable process and cherish your thoughts on delivery and overall format.
Thank you!

Homework!
I have emailed out homework links to the parent emails I received from GCA. Please check and make sure you received the email. If you wish to have another email/different email used please let me know and I will get it changed.
A couple of reminders:
You (or your child) can correct this just looking at the computer if you don't wish to print. At times it will be color intensive to help aid the grading process. Either printing, or using on computer is fine as they will not need it in class.
Please make sure this is not used to "do" the homework but to check/grade the homework. If your student needs direction I would suggest you (the parent/teacher) look at the answer or they can call/email me.
Next week I will be giving out a basic syllabus. As every class is organic in the way that it learns, as I am sure you know, I am sticking to a basic syllabus because it will change. If you need homework a head of time (ie two weeks out) due to conflict in plans or busy weeks please let me know and I will work to get it to you.
Thank you!

Hello All!
I am so excited to start this new school year! I am going to include some great link, documents, notes and other various resources on this page. I hope that you are able to follow along, ask questions and feel free to join in when you have an answer to a question!
A couple of notes to start:
1. If you would like you can follow the blog through your email. The place to type your email is listed above. You will be notified every time something else is added to the blog. I hope this is a useful tool for you and your family.
2. I will be adding some documents (homework correction, filled in notes ect..) throughout the school year. They will be in pdf format or through Google documents depending on the file and upload capability. If you need the Adobe Acrobat download you can get it for free here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/
3. I will be using Engrade for the grading and assessment portion of this school year. I will be sending out links to the grade book so that parents and students can keep up to date in their work and knowledge of class standing. Please be on the look out for this information.
4. This blog is to be used as a forum for students and parents to interact and ask questions. This blog's primary purpose is to learn the Spanish language. I hope we can have some fun doing so.
